Body Contouring Menu:

What is Body Contouring?

At Hill Country Plastic Surgery, body contouring is done surgically to shape the body and address specific areas that do not respond to weight loss efforts. This procedure can also remove excess skin from significant weight loss or aging.

There is no shame in wanting to be a confident person who feels comfortable in their own body. Body contouring provides the opportunity to overcome the limitations of aging so you can live the life you want.

While body contouring treatments aim to smooth, tighten, and shape the body, it is important to note that they are not weight loss methods.

Common areas for body contouring include:

  • Arms
  • Breasts
  • Back
  • Belly and flanks (love handles)
  • Buttocks
  • Neck and chin
  • Thighs

Breast Lift

A breast lift for body contouring involves reshaping the breast tissue, removing excess stretched skin, and creating a youthful and lifted breast contour. It may include reducing the areola size and can be combined with a breast augmentation to add volume.

Breast Lift and Augmentation

The breasts are lifted by removing excess skin before repositioning the breasts in a more youthful position on the chest wall. You can achieve a sculpted and shapely silhouette by adding augmentation with implants.

Breast Reconstruction

This surgery is critical to regaining your emotional health after breast cancer surgery. We work with your breast cancer team to offer implant reconstruction, oncoplastic reconstruction, and revisional breast surgeries to achieve optimal outcomes.

What’s the difference between body contouring and weight loss surgery?

Body contouring is designed for patients who are already near their ideal weight but want to remove excess skin or stubborn fat. It is not a substitute for weight loss or bariatric surgery.

How soon can I return to work or exercise after body contouring?

Most patients return to light activity within 1–2 weeks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least 4–6 weeks, depending on the procedures performed.

Can men benefit from body contouring procedures?

Yes, body contouring is highly effective for men who want to reduce love handles, chest fullness (gynecomastia), or abdominal fat and skin. The approach is tailored to create natural, masculine contours.

How much weight should I lose before having body contouring?

It’s best to be within 10–15 pounds of your ideal weight and to have maintained that weight for at least 6 months. This ensures safer surgery and longer-lasting results.
